THE
CONNECTED FILM FESTIVAL
REVIEWS
Welcome to the
Reviews Section for The Connected Film Festival. We review every film
which screens on our online film festival. These reviews and their scores
factor in the audience rating that is sent in to us from individual audience
viewers to determine if the film is eligible for our indie film showcase
channel on this web site.
Independent films screening on our showcase channel are eligible for awards,
won every quarter. Each film is up for an award at the end of the quarter
after it was added to our showcase channel. If it does not win an award
at that time, it then is eligible for an award, which can be awarded later
at our discretion, but is also eligible for awards in other quarters.
Films that win awards are taken out of the quarterly consideration for
awards.
Films that are submitted to us are eligible for awards. Films that we
add on our own are not, but may be retroactively considered for awards
if the filmmaker contacts us and gives us permission to add the film to
our award competition, to be considered at the quarter after the date
that permission is granted. All films are in competition and are eligible
for awards IF they are submitted by the filmmaker AND they score high
enough to be added to our showcase channel.
If a film is added by us and it qualifies to be in the showcase channel,
it is not eligible for any award unless the filmmaker contacts us and
gives us permission.
Our competition and awards are not raffles or any kind of contest not
permitted by law. We do not accept compensation for any film to be considered,
and there is no monetary compensation offered for awards.
We try to review each film as they are added to our online film festival.
Sometimes, however, it may take some time. Films that have reviews up
are listed in this section.
Our reviews are done in good faith and without bias, and they are the
opinion of the reviewer, which may ne done under a pseudonym for privacy
purposes and for the integrity of the review. Reviews stay up regardless
of the availability of the film to be watched, and films will still be
reviewed even if the film is made unavailable after we have added it.
Reviews will not be removed, even after a film is removed or is made unavailable
to be watched. We reserve the right to review any film that comes to our
attention.
Reviews may also be written and published under our affiliate independent
film web sites, such as, but not limited to, Tampa Film Review, Tampa
Bay Film Review, Florida Film Review, and Independent Film Review.
We strongly recommend making your film available to be watched, as the
audience is then free to see it and to make up their own mind instead
of going by the opinions expressed in our reviews. Your film deserves
a chance; if it can’t be seen, those options are limited.
If a film screening on our online film festival is made unavailable, or
if we are made to remove it, the review will remain up, and we will add
a notation that it is not available to view. If that film was on our showcase
channel, it will be removed from that channel and rendered ineligible
to be considered for any future awards. We will add the film to our indie
film graveyard channel so that it remains visible in search results for
that film. Removing your film or making it unavailable will not affect
its search results or remove it from the results of results; you cannot
erase it that way.
The reason that it has to be this way is that we have a lot of films screening
on The Connected Film Festival online film festival, and we don’t
have the time to constantly keep up with the films that are available
to be screened. Films screened on our online film festival need to be
available to be viewed, as it is frustrating for our audience to try to
watch a film and to find that it cannot be viewed. This, in turn, harms
the integrity of this film festival.
Please be considerate. Editing this web site takes time. We do not have
time to plug holes in our film playlist selection. We work hard to make
sure that each film is considered fairly and that it can be seen by an
audience. We add films to this film festival from public sources, and
if you did not want it to be seen, it should never have been uploaded
to begin with.
We reserve the right to add films this online film festival, and to review
these films, with no notification or warning, at our discretion. If you
wish to opt out of this, put a legal notice in the body of your film and
in the content supporting your film upload that the film is not licensed
for unauthorized exhibition, and that you do not grant permission for
unauthorized exhibition, as we are legally obligated to honor that. We
often add films that are publically available to be viewed online under
fair use, and we can do that because we do not host these films on this
web site, nor do we have possession of your video files.
Removing your film is your right, but it is also our right to allow the
information about your film to remain on this web site and to let the
audience know why it isn’t available.
Reviews of films may be done by a reviewer using a pseudonym for privacy
purposes. The review stands on its merits, and we are not obligated to
reveal or release the identity of the author of any review.
The following independent films have reviews that are available.
